Looking for a Guardian Angel

  • Mollee Mae

  • Coraline

This tiny but mighty 8-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix came to us with Lucy, an 11-year-old dachshund.  Their precious elderly owner could no longer care for them at her assisted living facility. Coraline took a while to warm up to us and would let out a high-pitched scream if we even touched her.  She now loves to lay on her back while the volunteers rub her belly. She occasionally likes to scold the big dogs for invading her space and they typically ignore her reprimand. She "talks" a lot and loves to stand up on her hind legs. Coraline is high energy and enjoys running around outdoors, especially on our hikes in the woods. She attempts to get the others to "turn it up a notch" but moves on to the next pup if they lack interest in her shenanigans. Coraline is looking for a Guardian Angel (forever foster) to have a human and a home of her own. She is full of personality and makes us laugh on a regular basis.

Living with Guardian Angels

Sanctuary Residents

  • Annie

This beautiful long-haired 12-year-old furry friend is a bundle of contradictions. With a shiny black coat and a sparkle in her eye, she is equal parts bashful and spunky.

One moment, she'll be hiding behind her favorite human in a picture of canine shyness or hiding out in the garden. But the next, she'll be bounding forward, tail wagging wildly, and a playful growl rumbling in the back of her throat.

Despite her bashful nature, this furry friend has a hidden streak of spunkiness that can't be denied. She'll chase after the other dogs with reckless abandon, leap over obstacles with surprising agility, and snuggle up in her favorite spot on the couch with a contented sigh that says, "This is my space, and I'm here to stay!"

Annie came to Sweet Dreams as part of a "family" of 4 dogs when her elderly owner moved into an assisted living facility and was unable to take the dogs with him. She suffered from some separation anxiety when she first came to the sanctuary but now has blossomed into a beautiful, loving dog that will live out her days as a sanctuary resident.

  • Belle

Belle holds a special place in our hearts as the first Sweet Dreams senior pup, joining us on October 4, 2023, shortly after we received our 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation. With an unknown past, Belle, this gentle yet goofy senior pup, was looking for a second chance at happiness in a safe and loving environment. We took her in and fell in love immediately. Belle's calm and gentle nature set the tone for our sanctuary, welcoming more pups (and kitties) to experience love, compassionate care, and magical tranquility.  With a heart full of joy, Belle adored spending time outside, where she could chase bugs, bask in the sunshine, and celebrate life's simple moments with infectious enthusiasm. She was a favorite of many volunteers and visitors. Sadly, Belle lost her fight with cancer on February 17, 2025, surrounded by all of her furry friends at the sanctuary.  The emptiness left by her passing is a profound ache that is felt by many of us. We believe that we made a huge difference in her life and we know, without any doubt, that our lives have been forever changed because of Belle.
